Cruise

Our sectors → Cruise

Cruise splits into two quite different jobs markets. Shoreside covers sales, reservations, marketing and operations in UK offices, and works much like the rest of travel. Shipboard runs on fixed contracts rather than continuous employment, commonly between four and ten months depending on the role, with senior positions tending to be shorter and most crew longer, followed by an extended period of leave. Departments on board include hotel operations, food and beverage, entertainment, and deck and engineering. Many lines recruit crew through specialist agencies rather than directly.

Disciplines / Sub sectors: Cruise Sales & Reservations, Shipboard Hotel Operations, Shipboard Entertainment, Deck & Engineering, Shore Excursions, Port Operations & Logistics

All sectors: Travel Agents & Homeworking, Tour Operators & Wholesale, Overseas & Resort Operations, Airlines & Aviation, Cruise, Hotels & Hospitality, Business Travel & TMC, MICE & Events, Travel Technology, Transport & Ground Travel, Tourism & Attractions, Adventure, Specialist & Sustainable Travel, Travel Trade Services
